Nurturing Partnerships for Growth

Empowering Every Child's Journey

At Renaissance Nurseries, our SEND Zone is dedicated to providing comprehensive and tailored support for children with special educational needs and disabilities. We understand that each child is unique, and we are committed to creating a nurturing environment where they can thrive academically and socially. We believe in fostering an inclusive atmosphere that values diversity and encourages all children to participate fully in their learning journey. At Renaissance Nurseries, every child is given the opportunity to reach their potential, and we are here to support them every step of the way.

Creating an inclusive physical environment within our nurseries is fundamental to meeting the diverse needs of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Every child with SEND receives an Individual Development Plan, reviewed termly to ensure that support remains personalised, targeted, and reflective of their ongoing progress. These plans are developed collaboratively with parents and professionals, ensuring that each child’s strengths, challenges, and aspirations are at the heart of our approach.

Our nurseries feature a dedicated sensory room designed to offer a calming, multisensory space where children can explore, regulate their emotions, and develop confidence at their own pace. These carefully curated environments support sensory processing needs and provide opportunities for relaxation, communication, and engagement. To further enhance understanding and communication, we use a range of evidence-based tools such as visual timetables, objects of reference, cue cards, body boards, and Makaton-supported communication. These strategies help children make sense of their daily routines, reduce anxiety, and build independence through predictable and accessible structures.

We place strong emphasis on family partnership. Parents are invited to regular meetings where we celebrate their child’s achievements, discuss developmental goals, and collaboratively set new learning priorities. This shared approach ensures consistency between home and nursery, promoting holistic progress. Additionally, we provide one-to-one intensive interaction sessions, offering children valuable opportunities to build trusting relationships, develop communication skills, and engage in meaningful, responsive interactions. These personalised sessions are designed to follow the child’s lead, nurturing their sense of agency and supporting deeper learning. Through our inclusive environment, collaborative partnerships, and child-centred practices, we strive to ensure that every child is empowered to thrive, learn, and reach their fullest potential.

Introduction to Our SEND Support

At Renaissance Nurseries, we believe that collaboration is essential in creating a rich and supportive learning environment. Our strong partnership with Special Educational Needs (SEN) teams, including Healthcare Professionals, enables us to effectively support every child’s individual development. Through this collaborative approach, we are committed to understanding and responding to each child’s unique needs. Regular reviews of children’s progress form a core part of our practice, allowing us to adjust our strategies based on the invaluable expertise. By drawing on specialist knowledge, we ensure that every child not only meets but has the opportunity to exceed their developmental milestones, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Our approach is built on collaboration; we work closely with a range of professionals, including educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and special educational needs coordinators. This ensures that we can accurately assess each child's individual requirements and implement effective strategies to support their development.

Engaging Parents in the SEND Journey

At Renaissance Nurseries, we recognise the pivotal role parents play in the development and wellbeing of their children, especially within the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) framework. Our commitment to involving parents begins with a transparent consultation process, ensuring that every parent is heard and their insights valued.

We understand that each child is unique, and by embracing parental input, we enhance our ability to tailor support effectively.

Consultation and Collaboration

Our approach to consultations involves open dialogue with parents about their children's needs. We offer regular meetings and informal gatherings, creating an environment where parents feel comfortable sharing their observations and concerns. In addition, we provide referrals to external professionals should further support be necessary. This collaborative effort is vital in developing effective strategies that cater to each child's individual requirements.

Empowering
Parents

We believe that knowledge is key to empowerment. As part of our commitment to parent involvement, we provide information sessions covering various topics related to SEND. These sessions aim to educate parents on the processes, available resources, and ways they can advocate for their children. Our team is dedicated to ensuring that parents feel informed and capable of navigating the SEND landscape.

A Supportive Network for Growth

Renaissance Nurseries is dedicated to nurturing a supportive network where children can thrive. By actively involving parents in the SEND process, we foster a sense of community that extends beyond our nursery walls. Parents are encouraged to participate in workshops and training sessions that equip them with the tools to better support their child's educational journey, thereby reinforcing the foundations of learning and development.

Join Our Community of Involved Parents

At Renaissance Nurseries, we invite all parents to become active participants in our community. Through ongoing consultation and engagement opportunities, we hope to build meaningful relationships that contribute to the success of each child.

Together, we can create a nurturing and enriching environment for our children to flourish.
