Our Parent's Notice Board
At Renaissance Nurseries, we understand that as a parent, staying informed is crucial to supporting your child's early education journey. This section is designed to provide you with all the essential details regarding our curriculum, exciting events, health and safety protocols, and much more to ensure a wonderful experience for your little one.

Health and Safety First
To promote children’s safety at home, ensure heavy furniture is securely fixed to walls, electrical outlets are covered, and safety gates are used to restrict access to hazardous areas. Store all potentially harmful substances, including cleaning products and medications, in locked cupboards or well out of reach. Support children’s health by maintaining consistent routines, including regular sleep schedules, nutritious meals, opportunities for physical activity, and age-appropriate learning experiences. Encourage open communication about feelings and experiences to nurture emotional wellbeing and create a supportive home environment.
Support For Children with SEND & Their Parents
Supporting children with additional needs and disabilities is crucial for fostering an inclusive environment in nurseries. The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) framework provides valuable resources and guidance for parents navigating this journey. It's essential for parents to engage in open communication with nursery staff to ensure their child's unique needs are understood and met. Nurseries often provide tailored support, such as individual learning plans and specialist resources, to help children thrive. By working collaboratively with educators and accessing local support services, parents can create a nurturing foundation that encourages their child's development and integration with peers.
Parent Partnership
At the Heart
Parent partnership is central to our nursery, helping us create a supportive and enriching environment for every child. Families can get involved by joining our Parents’ Helper Club for outings and trips, or by joining the Parent Committee Board to contribute to decision-making and share valuable insights. We also welcome parents at our Stay and Play sessions, which strengthen our community and offer opportunities to engage in your child’s learning. Your comments and suggestions are appreciated and help us continually improve our services. If you have a profession or skill that could inspire the children, we would love for you to visit and share it.
Please also remember to book your termly parents’ meeting to discuss progress. Asking for support whenever needed is not only welcomed but encouraged.

Sleep and Toileting Tips
Establishing a consistent sleep routine and effective toileting habits are essential for children's development and well-being, especially in a nursery setting. For sleep, encourage a calming bedtime routine by incorporating activities such as reading together, dimming the lights, and playing soft music to help your child wind down. Ensure that their sleeping environment is comfortable and familiar, making it easier for them to settle in.
When it comes to toileting, start by introducing regular toilet breaks throughout the day. Use positive reinforcement, such as praise or small rewards, to encourage your child’s efforts and create a supportive atmosphere. Be patient as every child is unique and may take varying amounts of time to adjust to these routines.

Our Start Parent
This term, we extend our sincere thanks to Caroline W. for her consistent politeness and respectful communication with all members of our nursery team over the years. Your kindness and thoughtful interactions greatly contribute to the warm and welcoming environment we strive to maintain. We truly appreciate your support and the positive atmosphere you help to create within our community. Thank you for being an outstanding role model.
From Everyone at Renaissance.
Curriculum Overview
Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to foster curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning. We believe in a holistic approach that nurtures each child's individual abilities while encouraging social interaction and development through play-based activities. You can trust that your child is engaged in a diverse array of learning experiences that are both educational and enjoyable.
Behaviour Regulation Tips

To support your child's development and ensure a positive atmosphere, consider implementing these behaviour regulation tips. Firstly, establish clear and consistent boundaries, as children thrive when they understand expectations. Using positive reinforcement, such as praise or small rewards, encourages good behaviour and helps build self-esteem. Additionally, model appropriate behaviour yourself; children often imitate the adults around them. It’s also beneficial to engage in open communication, discussing feelings and behaviours to help your child express themselves effectively. Finally, maintain a calm and patient approach, as children are more likely to respond positively in a nurturing environment. By incorporating these strategies, parents can foster a supportive nursery experience for their little ones.
Parent's Voice in Action
As a nursery, we understand the importance of creating a welcoming and informative environment for parents. Following the suggestion of one of our dedicated parents, we have revamped our website to ensure it is parent-friendly. We’ve added comprehensive resources, easy navigation, and engaging content that reflects our commitment to supporting families.
Additionally, we received feedback from a parent regarding the need to reintroduce two half-day sessions for our little ones. We listened and are pleased to announce that these sessions are back! We believe this flexible arrangement will greatly benefit both children and parents, allowing for a more adaptable nursery experience.

Borrowing Library
At our nursery, we promote a love of reading by offering a Borrowing Library where parents can take home books to enjoy with their children. Our preschool children also receive a weekly Homework Folder containing engaging activities and reading materials to support their learning. Local libraries provide free membership, giving families even more access to a wide range of books and resources. We believe that developing early reading habits helps build children’s imagination, language skills, and overall development. Click here to request a book for home.

Mental health awareness is essential for parents, particularly when managing the challenges that can arise during the nursery years. If you ever feel overwhelmed or concerned about your child’s emotional wellbeing, please speak with your GP or a member of our nursery management team. We are here to offer guidance, support, and access to helpful resources for both you and your child. Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength, and your child’s mental health is just as important as their physical health.
About Breastfeeding & Weaning
Weaning is an important milestone in your baby’s development and typically begins around six months of age. During this stage, solid foods should be introduced gradually while continuing to offer breast milk or formula. Start with soft, mashed foods and single-grain cereals, giving your baby the opportunity to explore new textures and flavours. It is essential to follow your baby’s cues and ensure they are developmentally ready for this transition.
At Renaissance Nurseries, we recognise the significance of maintaining breastfeeding routines. Parents are welcome to provide breast milk for safe storage so that babies can continue receiving their preferred nutrition. If you wish to breastfeed while on site, please let us know and we will provide a private and comfortable space for you and your baby.

Brushing Fun:
Smile Bright, Children!
We had a delightful time with our Dental Nurse parents visiting our nursery for an engaging session on toothbrushes! The children were thrilled to learn about dental care in such a fun way.
Introduce tooth brushing early.
Establishing this habit from a young age helps to instil good dental hygiene practices and supports children in developing a positive relationship with caring for their teeth. We encourage all parents to make tooth brushing a fun and joyful part of their daily routine with their children.
Please ask us for a free toothbrush and toothpaste for your child!
