Our Curiculum

 OUR CURRICULUM

We are proud to be a "Communication Friendly Setting", with more than 80% of our staff achieving the qualification and skills needed for the accreditation.

WE WANT OUR CHILDREN TO BE READY FOR SCHOOL AND LIVE!

Having realised that diversity and languages should be promoted more in the Early Years. Furthermore, we believe that when people do not see their values, cultures, religions and preferences reflected in a place, they feel unwelcome. We came up with making our settings fully reflect our British Values.

The diversity of the resources, staff, food, languages and cultures within our settings and the activities delivered is a good starting point for the children to learn to accept differences as they grow and develop into young adults.

Oh yes! We celebrate them all, from Eid, Christmas, Chinese New Year, and Diwali.

We take our children to visit religious establishments, and across our curriculum, we teach them to value everyone, no matter their faith, background, or origin.

ENQUIRE FOR

WHAT WE WANT OUR CHILDREN TO LEARN AND UNDERSTAND

Our Educational Program, Aims, Values and Mission Statement together form our Curriculum. They summarise what we want children to learn and how we teach them.

At Renaissance Nurseries, we want children to learn about our British Values, to understand the importance of Good Health and how to look after our planet.

HOW WE DELIVER IT

We promote children's learning and development by allowing them to use their imaginations and take risks during playtime. We teach our children what is right and wrong and respect and accept differences. We focus on teaching to love and care for each other in a friendly and relax environment. We plan activities to support each child's interests.

Promoting children's good health is at the heart of everything we do. Our Dental Health Program means every child can claim a free toothbrush every term. Our healthy and balanced menus allow children to taste food from around the world, try diverse spices and learn about where our food comes from and the impact different foods can have on our health and well-being.

We organise activities to promote our British Values. For example, we celebrate special days such as Eid, Christmas and Diwali. Our activities are planned daily, considering the children's age, abilities, current interests and learning priorities as we adopt the In the Moment Planning strategy.

We encourage independent play by allowing children to choose the most enjoyable activities. All our toys and games are at easy reach so children can lead their play. We involve the children when planning activities and encourage them to initiate their play.

Our selection of toys, games and activities assist children in developing all their skills in a fun, friendly and non-structured way.

We use many natural and recycled toys and play materials for children to use during play. All our toys, equipment and materials are appropriate for their purpose and are well maintained, and parents are encouraged to recycle from home and bring them in.

Forest School Program

Our Forest School Program aims to develop children's self-esteem and self-confidence through real-life experiences in the woodland.

It allows our children to explore play in the great outdoors and learn life skills as they experience life challenges. We focus on developing their problem-solving skills, encouraging risky play through climbing, jumping and running and promoting healthy engagement.

Promoting personal hygiene is on our agenda both indoors and when out and about. During our time in the woods, our children engage in non-structured children's activities such as dent building, cloud gazing, forest baking, natural walks, bug hotel building, mud play and more.

How does it fit in?

They are organised weekly on alternative days and times. Parents are required to give written consent for their child to take part. The program is designed to accommodate children aged three and above.
