Menus

FOOD AND DRINKS

We provide freshly home-cooked food to all children over 6 month old. When creating our menus, we consider healthy choices and children's dietary and religious requirements and preferences. Caw milk and fresh water are offered to children daily, with juice offered occasionally. Every child over 12 months old is provided with a water bottle. Children over 18 months old are offered milk in a cup. Throughout the day, children engage in cooking, baking and tasting activities. Children who have only tried their main meals may have already had something to eat as part of the activities we offer.

Dietary Requirements

Where children must have exceptional food or drinks due to health requirements, we will provide them subject to receiving a medical plan from the child's doctor. Parents are asked to provide them when children must have exceptional food or drinks due to parents' preferences. Supplement drinks not prescribed by a doctor, pharmacist or nurse will not be accepted. Any food provided by parents must be healthy and balanced. We follow the Food Safety Standard Agency for food safety management procedures and food hygiene regulation compliance. When cooking every dish we cook an  alternative such as a vegetarian and halal dish to meet children's religious requirements and preferences.

During Outings

Parents must provide a packed lunch for children when going on an outing. The food provided must be healthy and balanced. We do not accept unhealthy food such as crips, biscuits, sweets, or chocolate bars. Any unhealthy food provided by a parent will be sent back home. When a parent fails to provide a packed lunch for their child, the child may not participate in the outing and may remain at the nursery. Please only pack something containing nuts after notifying us in advance. We only accept sandwiches (cheese, tuna, chicken, or beef), fresh fruits, and fresh juice.

Recording

Milk feeds are recorded for babies under one. We record food for all children under three. We do not accept packed lunches from home.

During Celebrations

For special celebrations such as Diwali, Christmas or Eid, parents can bring traditional food, such as homemade dishes or cakes, to share with children and staff. We also accept traditional treats such as biscuits following a trip abroad. All of this will help us promote other cultures and religions worldwide. When food is brought into the nursery, we ask for a complete list of ingredients to meet the children's dietary and religious requirements. Children may be offered sweets for unique celebrations such as birthdays and Halloween. We will encourage children to take them home instead of eating them at the nursery. Where children are offered sweets at nursery, that day's activities will focus on dental hygiene and healthy eating. Parents can bring in birthday cakes and party food for birthday celebrations.

Babies

Parents are responsible for providing formula milk for babies under 18 month old. We follow babies' individual milk feed requirements. Powder milk must be provided every 4 weeks in its original container and kept at nursery. Portioned milk is not accepted. Parents can bring milk bottles to kept at nursery. We do not accept pre-made milk. Milk bottles are washed and sanitised after every use. We don't give children, including baby's dummies at nursery. At around 6 months old, we introduce complementary feeding alongside babies daily milk intake unless born prematurely. In this case, we will ask parents to seek medical advice prior to starting weaning. Parents can opt to bring baby jar food for children under one or delay weaning their baby. All children over one will follow the setting's feeding routine unless a professional report is issued.

Concerns About Eating/Feeding

We ask parents to seek medical advice if they are concerned about their child's eating. Where we identify a concern, we will speak to the parent and agree a plan and make appropriate referrals to meet the child's health needs.
